On these unions, when I install them on either the chlorinator or pump, do I use teflon tape and or pipe compound on the threads. I thought that as these have a rubber o ring the tape and dope would not be necessary.
Thank you.

Whenever any threaded male ends are plumbed into any piece of equipment either or both teflon tape and plumbers dope can be used. Keep in mind that there are multiple types used for such plumbing work.

I have a haywood super pump SP2607x10 and want to know if this will fit. My pipe connection has a 2 inch slip (3 inches in diameter thread) and want to know if that too will fit.

Hi Paul, For your application, you would require this 1.5" Male x 2" Slip Union

The original connectors accept 1.25 schedule 40 abs which has an outside diameter of 1.75 inches. Will these actually fit since you claim a different size slip joint?

Hi, Ray. You will need Item # SP1500UNMPAK1.

Description is incorrect. This item does not contain two (2) SPX1500JS, it comes with two (2) SP1500JS (note there is no "X" in there).

I can see how this can seem confusing. Some of these parts actually have alternate part numbers, and this one does. The part number that includes the "x" is an alternate part number.

Hi I have a hayward model sp15932s pump and need the union to go to a swim pro sw150mddvpaks filter. Will this work?

Hi, Christi. These Union Connectors - SP1500UNPAK2 will work based on your piping.

I have a Pentair Whisper Flow Pump with 2" PCV SCH 40 piping. The pump outflow connector is leaking water through the threads. Will this Union replace my faulty threaded connector?

Unfortunately, no these fittings will not thread to your pump. If the leak is coming directly from the female threads on the inside of the discharge pump port then that will need to be replumbed and inspected for any damage to the threads or port. You can use any standard male threaded MPT fitting for that port.
