Hi - I have a 6 year old Jandy CL460 filter that has recently sprung a leak on the bottom portion of the tank. My local pool dealer (who installed the pool 6 years ago) is telling me that the filter needs to be replaced ($1,400). This seems odd to me given it looks like the bottom of the tank can be replaced for $359.99.

I am experiencing the same thing. there are small holes at the bottom of the tank that are leaking. Can someone tell me what has caused that? The tank is about 7 years old.

I spoke to Jandy Technical ( 800-822-7933 ) and there thoughts were either there was increased water pressure or the water chemistry was an issue.

Is this the correct filter bottom to fit the Jandy CL 460 CP?
Is the distance between the inlet and out let 8" ?

Hi Ron, This Tank Bottom (R0358600) has been replaced with the Filter Bottom (R0466500) which does have an centerline of 8" between the inlet and outlet.

We have the Jandy CL340 and the bottom housing needs replacing. Will this part fit what we have? The unit is about 7 years old.

on your lower tank Jandy R0358600 4580-163 does it have 2 side opening for the water plus a lower drain my unit is a Jandy CL580

Yes, these units do have both inlet and outlets for flow and also do have a drain assembly. Please keep in mind that the R0358600 is no longer available. Manufacturer part #R0466500 (4580-163) replaces it but will only fit current models. We have a Jandy CL580 which was installed 10 years ago- the bottom assembly tank has a small crack in it and it is leaking at the inlet opening. The crack is not visible on the outside what bottom assembly tank is compatible>

Is there an epoxy or “weld” type product that can repair the small cracks in the bottom portion of a jandy filter tank system?

Hi. Products are available like the A+B Putty that when applied properly will allow you to still use the filter. Can't same how much longer.

I have a Jandy CL580, looks as though it's fiberglass? Developed a small hole on outside bottom very close to the outside drain. I attempted to patch with no success? Can it be replaced and continue to use the existing top? Roughly 8-9 years old..............

CL460, SN# D14KH2065, has a slight leak when running only. Was told that must obtain correct model otherwise not exact fit. True?
