How do tell if I have an EC-65 or a EC-75 filter.. I have both numbers on my Hayward filter.

Hi,Wray. There should be a black circle or a notch indicating one or the other. If that is not available you may measure the Flex-Tube Assembly inside of the canister. Flex-Tube Assembly 13 3/8” (EC65) Flex-Tube Assembly 16 1/4” (EC75). Click or copy and paste the link for pictures of the Flex Tube Assembly http://www.inyopools.com/Products/07501352017434.htm or reference the owner's manual at https://www.hayward-pool.com/pdf/manuals/Perflex-EC65A-EC75A.pdf

Does the entire flex-tube nest come completely together as a unit as shown in the picture (with shaft, ring washers, washers, c-claps, tubes, upper and lower tube holders and rubber mount installed as one whole unit)?

Before I get a new nest I would like to clean the nest a time or two when the nest is out of the filter container.
I see people suggest diluted muriatic acid? And/or how about just dish soap?
Thanks in advance for your help
Phil

You can soak the flex tubes in a solution of 1 part muriatic acid to 20 parts water. You can also use a filter cleaner solution. The dish soap is not as effective as the first two options.
