The filter core broke near the bottom of the core in the filter tank. How do I replace the filter core? The picture you have of the core shows a round piece near the bottom of the core. My core broke above the round piece. Does the round piece come out of the tank? If so, how do I get it out? My filter system is a Predator 150 sf. It was installed in 1997 and the core was replaced under warranty in 2000. Can you tell me the part # I need to order the core? Thank you!!

Hi, According to the Pentair Clean and Clear Owners Manual the core by placing hands in lifting handles of the core and pull straight up. The Center Core, 150, 200 (59053800) will be the correct replacement for your unit.

Hi Tom, The Core is the support system of the filter, it is also what the water flow through. The filter will not work as it should without it.

I have ordered a predator/ c.c. 150 cartridge with a 6 inch center. Is this core compatable. Will a cartridge with a 6 in. openning fit over it.

Hi John, You may have to wiggle the center core free from the tank body. The lower part of the can be kept in place but replace the middle and upper portion of the core.

Hi, Walter. The center core simply slides out of the filter base. The base has grooves that the center core slides into, you may have to wiggle it a little to free the core.

I am looking for my model number to replace the center core. The barcode sticker on the top of the unit has disintegrated. I see that there are two core sizes, is there any other place that would designate the model number ?

I think I have been removing my cartridge filter incorrectly for almost 12 years?!? I just read the little pdf from Pentair and I think it says you remove the center core each time to remove the filter for cleaning... Is that right?

Hello, yes in order to do a more thorough filter cartridge element cleaning you will want to remove it from the center core. This will also allow you to clean the cartridge from the inside outward.

Hello. The Pentair Clean & Clear 150 sq ft and 200 sq ft Filter Cartridges have the exact same dimensions. Length: 31 1/8" OD: 10 1/6" ID: 6". The difference is the pleat density, 150 sq ft versus 200 sq ft. They are interchangeable within the Clean & Clear 150 and 200 models.
