Hi Carmen, This is probably the largest above ground pool systems on the market and can handle an above ground pool up to 21' x 43' oval or up to 36' round.

Does this system include a unionized gate valve to isolate the system for maintenance? If not, how do you stop the water flow to change the cartridge or clean out the leaf filter? And how long would shipping take to zip code 15522 if I ordered this morning? Thanks, Harry

What size Union coupling does this have?
Also, can I attach a valve on the drain to vacuum to waste?

The union between the pump and the filter is a 2" union. For the port going into the pump this does not have a union and has a 1-1/2" hose adapter fitting. Yes you could use a valve on the drain to vacuum to waste. You may also consider this Hayward Valve which goes between the pump discharge port and the filter.

why is it so hard to replace the top of the filter once it has been cleaned. I can never seem to get the top on correctly. any suggestions?

Hi Maribeth, Make sure that the cartridge sits correctly into the filter, and that the o-ring is lubricated. That will allow the filter to go back on smoothly.

How do you set the filter system for an automatic pool vacuum?

The filter doesn't have any special setting to operate a pool vacuum. The filter would only need to be cleaned occasionally to maintain proper flow. You may need to adjust the skimmer and main drain valves in front of the pump in order to increase or decrease the suction. I would recommend following your pool cleaners installation guide to install the automatic pool vacuum properly.

I have a 22 1\2 ft by 42 1\2 ft long oval pool with it being 4 to 5 ft deep above ground pool. Will this filter be ok for my pool?? If not what filter would be good?

I have a 2hp 2 speed pump outdoor pro pump when I turn it on the pump quits after about 30 seconds then after it sets there for apx 1 min something clicks inside the pump,then it has to be manually restarted,is the pump bad or something else?

John, Does your motor have a capacitor? If so, it may need to be replaced. If it does not have one, you will likely need to change the motor.

Hi, Sharon. You can run the pool continuously on low speed and use high speed when needed or run the pump on high speed for a few hours and low speed for a few hours.

Hi. This filtration system cannot be used with inground applications. The pump is not self-priming, so the water level of the pool has to above the pump strainer.

I have a 2 hp 2 speed outdoor pro cartridge filter system on a 21 foot round above ground pool. Is this to much for me? It came as a package deal and I noticed when running the pump the pressure guage does not move just stays at zero, is something wrong?

Hi Sylvia, the replacement filter cartridge element for the Waterway Clearwater II cartridge filter is 17-175-1356. However, a brand new complete filter/pump package does already come with a new cartridge element.
