What is difference between the Sta-Rite Supermax and Max E Pro pump?
Reply
The Super Max is a high flow pump and the Max-E-Pro is a high head pump. We use the analogy that a high head pump is similar to when you put your thumb half way over a garden hose, high head pumps are great for water features, solar, spa jets or pools with long runs of pipe. A high flow pump would be similar to if you took your thumb off of the hose, you will get more flow but less head pressure a high flow pump is great for your standard pool without any water features or spa jets. The Max E Pro will also have a higher gallon per minute (GPM) output than the Super Max as a 3/4 HP Super Max has an output of 50 GPM's at 40' of head where the 3/4 HP Max E Pro will have an output of 70 GPM at 40' of head.

will this replace STA-RITE S48B74A03 MOTOR
and ABG4E-2A4 1F04N PUMP

Hi Butch this pump could work as a replacement for your Sta-Rite ABG pump however you would need to do some re-plumbing. The 1 HP Dynamo Pump would be more of a direct replacement for the Sta-Rite ABG pump.

I have a Sta-Rite C48J2PA104A3 3/4HP-3450RPM motor with a P2RA5D-120L Pump (code#1H89X) . They are in working order but getting older and i'm looking to replace with new units. What would you recommend as I understand my pump is no longer available.
Thanks

Hi Rodney, The best Drop In replacement we have found for the P2RA5D-120L & the P2RA5D-180L Dura-Glas Pump is the Speck Easy Fit Pump, which is a direct drop-in replacement for your pump.

Looking for a replacement for P2RA5D-120L and the Speck Easy you previously recommended is no longer available. Pool size is 14x36.5x4 or about 15,500 gal so I figured a pump with a minimum flow rate of 32 gal per minute. The pipe size is 2". Which Hayward pump would recommend? The Hayward claim to be the "workhorse" and appears to be the most straight forward when replacing motor shaft seals.

Is this a direct replacement for my MPEA6D-146L and is it complete with motor and ready for installation ?
Hi, The plumbing ports on this pump are in a slightly different location than the MPEA6D-146L so you would have a little re-plumbing. The water output of this pump would be comparable to your current pump. This is the complete pump and motor ready for installation. You may want to consider the 3/4 HP Waterway SMF Pump as it has an adjustable base which may allow you to align one of the ports to your plumbing making the replumbing easier.

Hi Peter, so the Sta-Rite SuperMax pool pump series is the replacement for the older Sta-Rite DuraGlas pump series however we would need the motor details to confirm. Could you send us a few photos of your motor? Please take a close up shot of the motor label. To supply photos simply click the reply link below and upload your photos. Once we get those photos we can make the proper recommendation.
