I am in San Luis Obispo county, California. Is the RayPak 106A compatible with all of the environmental requirements for this region? I had one installer tell me that it was not.

Mick- Depending on what your local code requires this may not be suitable for your application. Parts of California have a requirement to have emissions standards which will require you to get a LoNox model heater. You would need to verify what you local code is, if you were to install a heater that does not meet the code for your area no one will install, service, or warranty the heater.

Can I use this unit on a hotel spa or its just a domestic use thank you

Typically commercial pools will require an ASME certified heater to pass inspection. Here are our Raypak ASME Certified Heaters

Can i usean extension cord as the unit only comes with a 3ft cord.Is there a unit that i can get without having to use an external power source, with the same specs. The unit im replacing is the spark system, which has been satisfactory so far.

Hello, An extension cord is not recommended. You can replace the cord with a longer one, but you will need to make sure that the gauge of the cord is suitable for the length.

Hi KM, A few thing can cause a heater not to fire up. The Raypak 106 & 156 Owners Manual has a few troubleshooting tip you can follow or you can have a technician come out to inspect the unit.

Hello, The Raypak 014779 is listed with a 1/2" gas connections. You will need to make sure that the gas line dieameter is adequate for the length of gas line from the meter.

Hi. Whatever size gas line you have, it will have to be reduced to 3/4" to connect to the heater's gas valve.

CAN I REPLACE MY 155C-MV WITH THIS MODEL?
Reply
Hi Tracy, I imagine your 155C-MV is 155,000 BTU's and this will be 105,000 BTU's so slightly less heating capacity, but nothing major. This is electronic ignition so you will need to run 115V electrical to this heater. This heater is also designed for use at altitudes up to 4,999' and for Natural Gas. The plumbing connections will not be in the exact location as your old heater so you will have a little re-plumbing. If you can deal with the changes I referenced then yes this would be a suitable replacement.

I live in an area with an elevation just under 1,100 and we have only a couple of pool dealers. I am interested in the electric Raypak 106A 105,000 above-ground pool heater. Will I require someone from the local pool companies to install the heater? I have one power box with 2 outlets. Could there be an issue with plugging this unit and my pool pump on the same power box? Can the heater sit on level ground or is a slab recommended? Thanks!
