I have a polaris that is approx. 10 yrs. old and have had it worked on several times but I think it is worn out because it will only work on the deep end. It has a booster so if I bought one without the booster will it connect without any changes to my jets, etc. It sounds like it would be more energy efficient without the booster pump running.

Thank you for your question. The Polaris 360 cleaner runs off of the pool's standard return jet. Since you are not using an additional booster pump, you will save on energy costs. Please keep in mind that your pool pump will have to be powerful enough to run the cleaner. If it is not, you may have to upgrade your pool pump.

Hi John, A booster pump is not recommended to operate this unit. However if you do use one, you will have to regulate the water flow.

Hello Reenie, there normally is a "quick clean" button which will put your pump up to a higher HP when running your pool cleaner and after a certain time frame it will go back to normal setting slowing down HP and stopping your cleaner.

At first, I got the polaris 280 with booster pump, but I have to return it to retailer since I dont have a dedicated suction/return line and I dont want to install one. All I have is two skimmers at the deep end, and 3 returns all with small diameter (2 of which are near the stairs on the shallow side, and one is in the medium depth side). I'm new to pools and my terms might not be right.
Can I install the Polaris 360 on my pool? Do I need to install an adapter on my main return line?

A Polaris 360 will work depending on what size pump you have installed. You may need to plug off the other returns if the pump is undersized or install smaller return jets. You will need to install the adapter to attach the cleaner which is supplied with the cleaner. Be certain you fittings are threaded as the adapter is threaded.

I have a Polaris 360 and a booster pump. My booster pump went out a couple of months ago so I replaced it for about $300.00. Now the pool guy is saying I purchased the wrong cleaner, that it does not require a booster pump. I there any way to bypass the booster pump so I don't have to by another cleaner? The cleaner is only 9 months old.

Hi, Tammy. You will have to plug the booster pump line after having it removed. Then you will have to convert one of your return lines to operate the Polaris 360.
