I just finished replacing the shaft seal on my booster pump. As soon as I turned the pump on water was leaking from the shaft seal. Is it defective or am I doing something wrong?

Depending on the model, the installation of a booster pump shaft seal can be slightly different than a pool pump shaft seal. Some booster pump and pool pump shaft seals require that a silicone sealant be used on the outer areas of the metal seat of the shaft seal. The seal will need to be lightly hammered into the body of the pump. You can use a 1 inch PVC coupling or a piece of 1 1/4 inch PVC pipe and a rubber mallet. This procedure will apply to any pool pump or booster pump using a >PS-1000 style shaft seal.

On a pentair motor 177475 230/115v hp 1.0 and sf hp 1.65 what is the gh or gpm

Hi Judy, You will need to calculate the total feet of head for your pool using "Step 7" of our How to Size a Pool Pump for Your In-Ground Pool. Once you have the total feet of head calculated you can use the performance Curve chart under Product Description to see the GPM of your Whisperflo Pump 1 HP.

I have the Pentair 011772 with a date code of 08/16/2013. It was installed when I purchased the property in 2014. I have noticed the pump getting louder, small bubbles coming out of the returns for several minutes after start up (new issue), reduced suction at the vacuum head and reduced pressure coming out of the returns. I was thinking about a new pump until I saw the date code. Any recommendations? The sand filter was refreshed recently with new sand and all new o-rings. Thanks n advance

Yes, if you are just needing to replace the motor that is possible, you just need the motor and shaft seal for a motor installation. If you provide you motor model number I can help you with the correct motor replacement and shaft seal.

I have to replace a Pre 92 Purex Aquatron pump
Can you tell me which replacement pump which would be easy to switch out and not have to do a major amount of re- plumbing
I have the Purex filter which was part of the original package and both pump and filter are mounted on angle iron frame

Hi, Paul. Unfortunately, any pump you use as a replacement the plumbing will have to be redone in accordance to the current pump installation requirements. If you can provide me with your Feet of Head calculation and flow rate requirements I can locate a suitable replacement.

I am looking for a replacement motor for a Pentair WhisprFlo WF24, #011772. Do you sell just the motor and if so what is the cost? Thank you.

Hello, yes the single speed replacement motor for your Pentair Whisperflo pump model 011772 is the B853. Also, it is recommended to replace the seals when replacing the motor. For a chlorine swimming pool that will be the GOKIT32 and for a saltwater pool it will be the GOKIT32SALT.
