Without the electrical cord?

Hi Catherine, This heater is available with our without an electrical cord. If you get the model without an electrical cord then you would hardwire the heater to your electrical source. If you went with the MasterTemp Model With an Electrical Cord then it would plugin into a standard 120V outlet.

I have 20 ft long above ground pool, holds about 8,000 gallons. How long will it take to raise temperature , by hour? Also, in average will small tank of propane be enough to raise the temperature ?

Hello Ahmed. In answer to your question, there are many variables to consider; ambient air temperature, wind speed, exposed water surface area, hours of sun/shade. The simple answer is to use a basic formula. Gallons of water multiplied by weight per gallon (8.33 lbs) multiplied by the degrees of desired change in temperature divided by the BTU output of the heater (125K BTU). Your pool for example; 8,000 gallons X 8.33 X10 degree change / 125,000 = 5.33 hours. Propane consumption basic formula; there are 91,500 BTUs in 1 gallon of liquid propane, Divide BTU output of the Heater, 125K BTU, by 91.5KBTU = gallons of propane used per hour. Your heater for example; approx. 1.366 gallons/hour. The capacity of the propane tank should be determined by referencing these calculations.

Does this heater have the appropriate heat exchanger type for a salt water application? And would a few 100 pound propane tanks linked together work to power it. I could not find specs on fuel input requirements.

Hello Dave. The MasterTemp 125K BTU LP Gas Heater is compatible with saltwater pools. Propane consumption is based on several factors. The Mastertemp 125K BTU LP Gas Heater burns 1.366 gallons of propane per hour. How long the heater operates is based on the size of the body of water (in gallons) and the degrees of temperature increase desired. Gas Consumption = gallons of water X weight of water (8.33 lb/gal) X degrees desired divided by heater BTUs. Attached please find the Owners Manual for the MasterTemp 125K BTU LP heater. Please note information on page 15. Consult with your LP provider for more specific information. MasterTemp High Performance Heater Owners Manual (8.96 MB)
