I am replacing my old Sta-Rite filter, what else besides the quad filter do I need to buy?

The only piece of equipment necessary for installation is the purchase of a valve. The valve options for the Quad D.E. Filter are listed by port size, measure your pipes to determine the best fit for you. 261173 - 1.5" Threaded Multiport Valve 261055 - 2" Threaded Multiport Valve

If the Pentair Quad 80 and Pentair Quad 100 both flow a maximum flow rate of 160 GPM with the exact same hourly turnover capacity, why would the Pentair 100 be considered the better of the two options?

Hello Thom- The Pentair Quad 80 188593 and Pentair Quad Cartridge / DE Filter 100 - 188594 do have the same flow rating, but the Quad 100 has more filtering area meaning it can clean more and get dirtier between cleanings.

I am replacing a FNSP 60 I have a 24,000 gallon pool with a lot of waterfall and rock surfaces which puts a lot of dirt into the pool daily what is my best option for a new filter. I would like to be able to back flush if possible Thanks

The 188594 would definitely hold more dirt than the FNS. Easier to clean and replace the cartridges than the grids you currently have.

I’m having problems with the filter leaking DE into the pool when the pump is first turned on and then it stops. What could be causing this.....also the filters are brand new.

Hi Tyler, so there can be a few reasons as to why D.E. powder is getting in the swimming pool. Here is a guide that we created called "Getting DE Powder in Your Pool?" that may assist with that.
