I have a pool that is about 10,000 gallons but I am thinking of buying a salt chlorine system for pools up to 20,000 gallons. Would the larger unit be a problem?

It is not a problem to oversize a salt system. It would take the larger unit less time to produce the necessary chlorine so it is actually more efficient. When the pool volume is very close to the capacity of the salt chlorine generator (for example, the pool is 18,000 gallons and the generator is rated at a maximum of 20,000 gallons), we would recommend going up to the next size generator.

Is the salt included with the salt chlorine generator?

No, salt is not included. You would purchase the salt locally and the quantity will depend upon the number of gallons of water in your pool. Use a salt that is at least 99.8% pure NaCl. The preferred salt is evaporated, granulated, food quality, and NON-iodized. Avoid using salt with anti-caking agents like sodium ferrocyanide, also known as yellow YPS (prussiate of soda). These cause some discoloration of fittings and pool surface finishes. DO NOT use calcium chloride.

On the Zodiac AquaPure Ei, how long is the clamp and how much straight pipe is required on the return line?

The clamp for the AquaPure Ei is approximately 7" long. 1-1/3' of straight pipe is recommended for installation of the cell on the return line.

Can the Zodiac AquaPure Ei be installed on 1.5" or 2" pvc pipe?

The Jandy AquaPure Ei can be installed on 1.5" and 2" pvc pipe. There is a spacer included to adapt to 1.5" pvc. The spacer is not required for installation on 2" pvc.

Is the APURE35PLG a complete salt system? What else do I need to make it work?

The APURE35PLG is a complete salt system. Aside from it, you will need pvc pipe and fittings, salt to add to the swimming pool and conditioner to protect the chlorine that is being generated by the system.

Regarding the Zodiac APURE35PLG, do you have to install the pod with the cell ?

According to Zodiac, the Pod must be installed. The Pod checks the flow rate and salinity level. The AquaPure Ei will not create chlorine if it does not detect a flow rate.

Do i need to buy bags of multi mineral start up from yall also an if so how many for 14,364 gal ?

You do not have to remove any equipment when installing the salt system. The only thing you have to do is install the new system and add salt.If you have a Baquacil system, you would have to make sure all of the Baquacil chemicals are completely removed from the water.

how do i clean my jandy 35 plg?

1. Ensure that all power to the power pack and the controller is disconnected/turned off at the circuit breaker. 2. Before removing the cell for cleaning, shut off any necessary valves to prevent any water loss. 3. Remove the terminal cap and cell leads. 4. Undo the locking ring. If required, use the locking ring tool provided (see Figure 24). 5. Remove the cell (see Figure 25). 6. Refit the terminal cap on the cell and invert (see Figure 26). 7. With protective glasses and gloves on, add one (1) part acid to ten (10) parts water and mix. 8. Fill the cell to the top of the electrode plates with the acid solution. Leave solution in cell no longer than 30 min.
