Is this timer pump start capable, or do you need a separate pump start relay?

Hi. That is correct, the timer must be 230 volts in order to operate a 230 volt motor.

I own an Intermatic mechanical timer model #T104P201 that controls power to my pool pump and heater. The mechanical timer mechanism has failed and I would like to replace it with a digital timer mechanism. I do not need to replace the plastic enclosure or other existing components. Can you tell me which model to purchase? Thanks!

Is this timer designed to fit into the same plastic encosure as the old Intermatic analog timer?

Hello Mike. The Intermatic PB314E will not fit the Intermatic T Series (T101, T104) timer box. The P7103ME contains the timer and mounting plate required to make the conversation. Unfortunately, the P7103ME is not currently available through INYO Pools. An internet search identified an in-stock source. INTERMATIC P7103ME Attached please find wiring instructions Model: P7000ME Series Electronic Time Control Mechanisms Please note - this timer has dual voltage capability. Reference the model P7103ME 240 Volt Installation diagram.
