Is there a way to identify that my pump is in fact a FLEX48 pump? Also is there an installation guide?

If you look on your motor label there should be a marking labeled FR or Frame if your frame type is listed as 48 or anything with 48 in it (i.e 48Y, 48X, etc..) you would fine to use this timer. Some common pumps this timer will work on is the Hayward Power-Flo, Hayward Matrix, Pentair Dynamo, and Sta-Rite JSAL This timer is typically used on pumps used on an above ground pool and most above ground pool pumps have a 48 frame. You may view the installation guide for this timer here http://www.inyopools.com/manuals/164/hayward_controls_microprocessor.pdf

My motor doesn't have a plastic cap like the one in the picture. Will this still fit?

The SP1500FT will fit Flex 48 frame motors that have a plastic cap similar to the one in the picture. If you don't have one you will need to use an external timer.

I don't have a "Timer Microprocessor" on the cover and switch.
Can just the SWITCH be replaced? If so, can I just pop it out?

The switch by itself cannot be replaced. Hayward offers model SP1500FT as the replacement. It has a timer feature as well as the on/off switch.

How do you bypass sp1500ft timer to run pump manually

Jeff, Move switch from “RUN” to “OFF” back to “RUN” within 3 seconds. The pump will run for 1 hour and then return to the programmed mode you’ve selected.

Trying to re-program the timer back to 24 hrs continuous, after power failure (it wont default back to programmed mode as it should). Cant get a tone when we switch to program button. Have been continuing to override the timer setting, and it will run for one hour, then shut down completely. My 86 year old Mom, can't keep overriding it every hour to keep it running - any suggestions? If you can help us get it back to 24 hour continuous, that'd be great. Thanks

Hi Cindy, Instructions can be found in the Hayward Controls Microprocessor Manual. If you're still unable to get it to work you will need to replace the timer.

Will the SP1500FT timer work with my Hayward EC150 pump & filter?

Hi John, This timer can be used on most 48Y thru-bolt motors. If you can provide the actual model of the pump or the part, cat or mod number of the motor we can confirm if this timer can be used.

I have a Hayward Matrix (SP56152ET). The programmable timer is no longer working. Can this timer be installed on this model? The 3-position switch is in a different position. If not, is it possible to get a new timer for my model?

Paul, The pump model you provided does not show in my system. Please provide photos of the pump and switch you are trying to replace.

I have this timer but I don't hear the tones anymore when trying to set the timer. Does this mean the timer has to be replaced.

Hell Charlie, I would try and troubleshoot with Hayward 800-657-2287 to see if there is something needing to be reset.

The on/off switch on the back of my SP56152ET model pump (also acts as a 4 choice 12 hour or 24 hour high/low speed timer) has stopped working --the "click" part mechanism seems broken. Can I replace just this and how?

Hi Phillip, You would require the 5271-73 Dual Speed Motor Switch Assembly as this Switch Assembly is for Single Speed Pumps. Also, we put together a Guide on How to Replace Your Dual Speed Pump Switch which you may find helpful.
