I want to install the Hayward Lownox heater on my pool but I live in the mountains at 3,000 foot elevation; do I need to buy a special high elevation heater?
Reply
Hello George, The Hayward Universal Low Nox are self adjusting up to 10,000 feet of elevation. Any installation above 2,000 feet will require a special restriction plate to be installed. Luckily, that plate comes standard with every heater so no need to purchase it separately.

How long does it take to raise the temperature of the water in an 18' round above ground pool 10° (75°-85°) using a 200,000 but NG heater?? Thank you!!!

For an 18' round above ground pool you can expect a 2 degree per hour temperature rise when using a 200,000 BTU heater.

I have a 400,00BTU gas inground pool heater. The control panel is no longer available to replace.
We only heat the spa not the pool. Am I OK with a 250000BTU replacement heater or should we go up to a 300000BTU
to heat the water faster.

Good morning Curt, Either will work for your spa. I would go with the bigger option will heat up quicker causing it to run less. Plus, in case you decide you want to heat the pool you'll have that option.
