A C100S Single Element Filter was installed in place of DE filter system. The C100S has no plumbing or valves to accommodate backflushing the tank or pumping down the pool water level in case of rain over flow. Is there something on this unit that I am not aware of -- in Florida it is imperative to have a way to pump down the pool in case of heavy rainfall.

On this model filter there is a drain plug on the bottom side of the unit that you can remove and add a water spicket to. You can then attach a water hose to that and extend that out to where you would like to drain the water.

Would 50-60 GPM to little flow for this filter?

Hi, A flow rate of 50-60 gpm would be great for this filter. When the actual flow rate is lower to the max filter's flow rate the filter will perform better and last longer.

I have +/- 10,000 gallons inground oval swimming pool. And I need a new filter. Could you advise me if the Hayward 100 will be ok my pool size.
Thank you.

Hi, Joe. This Hayward Cartridge Filter - C100S will be sufficient for your pool if your pump flow rate does not exceed 100 GPM. To determine your pumps' flow rate, use our How to Size a Pool Pump guide.

On the Hayward C150 Swim Clear Pumps is the intake in the upper position and exit at the lower position on the pump body?

Hi, John. Yes, the dirty water enters the filter from the pump to the upper ports and the clean water leaves the filter through the lower port of the filter.
