How is it possible that this valve actuator will fit on any 2 or 3 way valve?

The most common valves in the industry are Jandy, Compool, Pentair,Hayward, and Intermatic. These mfg'rs make up 99% of the valves on the market. All of these mfg'rs use the same bolt pattern on their valves. Since they use a common bolt pattern, the valve accuators are interchangeable. Click here to view all our valve actuators

what is the purpose of the togle switch on the back of the unit

Hi Ted, the toggle switch allows you to manually activate the valve, so when you flip the switch the actuator activates and starts rotating the valve. Normally you would use this switch when you need to activate the valve manually not through a controller.

Aqualogic value actuator GVA24 / what outside remoto by the spa ) PN 520094
will it work with the GVA24
Reply
Hello, Dean. The Valve Actuators are interchangeable to other Manufacturers Valves, for systems using 24VAC Control Systems this actuator should work. It is designed for the Aqua Logic but can be used in place of any 24-volt actuator. Pentair offers a CVA24T 3 Port Valve Actuator, part number 263045 if you would prefer to keep your product line the same.

Are the replacement gearsets available for the Goldline Valve actuator? The model # is off, but it's controlled by a goldline 235 on a 3-way valve.

Hi Mike, Replacement gears are not available for this unit, you will have to replace the complete actuator.

i have a gl-235 actuator. is there anyway air could get thur the actuator and cause air bubbles to come out of the pool jets.is there a gasket that has to be replaced behind the housing from the actuator going into the pvc.

Hi RC, If you're getting bubbles back into the pool it's entering from the suction side of your system. You can follow the steps in our How To: Identify and Correct Air Leaks guide for troubleshooting instructions.

I replaced my broken GVA-24. The new actuator works fine using the toggle switch. When my solar kicks on the valve moves counter clockwise 180 degrees which is good. When it turns off nothing happens. The actuator does not turn clockwise 180 degrees back to turn the flow of water off to the solar panels. I also have a brand new GL-235 controller and temp sensors. I have checked the temp sensors and they check out fine. Thanks for your help.

Hello Brian, you might want to contact Goldline to run a diagnostic 888-921-7665.

part of the handle on one valve and the thumb screw on another have broken. May I buy replacements parts from you? They are GVA-24 valves with electric actuators.T

Hi, Mike. The parts that you need are not specific to the actuator but the valve. If you con provide us with the valve model we can locate the part that you need.

I have a Hayward Valve Actuator model #GVA-4.
Is this interchangeable with the Model #GVA24?

Hi, Donald. This GVA24 valve actuator is interchangeable if you're using a Hayward controller.

Can i control the voltage output to this so that i can control the flow
Reply
Hi, Tyler. You can not control the voltage to the actuator. You can set the actuator to control the valve opening which will regulate the water flow. You can view instructions in the Goldline GVA24 Install Manual.

I have a Hayward saltwater controller and this GVA-24. My understanding is as long as the solar panels are reading > the solar temp, it will heat the water to the solar temp. Regarding the manual toggle switch. I've read it's designed as "Auto 1, off, Auto 2". Currently though it seems to be functioning as "Opens Valve, Off, Closes Valve". Am I stuck in manual mode? Any tips on how to return it to an automatic mode, where the controller auto informs actuator to open/close? Thank you!

Hi, Jack. The Actuator will have to be in the Auto position in order to be controlled by the controller.

I have an aqualogic system. Pool and Spa Std. Both Valve actuators for the spa wont turn. Doesn't matter which position the switches are in. Tested microswitches inside. They are OK. Replaced actuator. Same effect. Need to know proper testing procedure for the main board. No useful info from Hayward. I'm not "AUTHORIZED", but I am capable. Please provide needed info.

Hi, JS. The only way you can test the board is to check to see if the actuator is getting the correct amount of volts needed to power it. To check power to the actuator, measure AC volts between the black (common) and each switch leg (red then white). If there is no AC volts on either leg, check the 24VAC power source.

Hello, is it possible to use this valve actuator with the Hayward OmniLogic? Thanks in advance, and thanks for all your content!!

I have two actuators on my system the one in the rear is a goldline dva 24, the one on the front I can't read what it is, I want to should I purchase the same brand and size actuator for the front and rear.

Hi Patricia, could you send us a few photos of both actuators? To supply photos simply click the reply link below and upload your photos or quickest provide them using our live online chat feature. Once we get those photos we can make the proper recommendation.

Is there any way to power these GVA-24 actuators without plugging into a controller? My OmniHub is already controlling it's max number of two actuators for pool/spa suction/return actuators. However, I'd still like to take advantage of the two actuators on my water features by utilizing the toggle switch manually for on/off operation. Just need to provide power to them, not necessarily control them through a controller. Power adapter?

Hello Matt. Attached please find a link to the Water-Lab website. The link contains information and the parts required for the manual/remote operation of 24V valve actuators. Water-Lab The Hayward Product description for the Omni Series of Pool Pumps indicates that up to two additional Smart relays can be purchased. Hayward technical service would be able to provide the assistance to understand that process. Hayward technical service can be reached by telephone at --888-HAYWARD. (1-888-423-9273)

i had some issues with my valve actuator that i believe i resolved but now the valve actuator is only turning in one direction. once it hits the stop point in will not reverse and go the other way
Reply
Hello Michael, sometimes the gears within the valve actuator get dirt, or debris in them hindering how they rotate. If that doesn't resolve the issue then I recommend replacing it.

I am looking to replace my GVA-24 serial number #21211008260077110 and the picture of your hayward GVA-24 doesn't show the handle on it. Does it not come with one?
Reply
Nancy, this will replace your existing GVA24. The actuator does not come with a handle. Your handle is actually from the 2way/3way valve that this actuator sits on top of.
