This reel will work on pools down to 12 feet wide and up to 16' wide, so yes this will work just fine on your 12' X 24' pool.

How tall is the solar reel when the cover, 16 x 32, is rolled up completely? How much room do I need for this set up to fit under the diving board?

Can this be shortened for a 10' wide pool, by cutting the Aluminum and attaching to the joint web?
