I have an above ground pool and I've been told that I need to use an air pillow underneath my winter pool cover. What does the air pillow do?

An air pillow helps to attract freezing water as it expands and relieves the pool walls from the stress of water expansion.Air pillows also help reduce excess water, leaves, debris and snow on your winter cover.

Hi. Yes, a 4'x8' pillow in an 18' round pool is better than a 4'x4' pillow.

Hello Ross.  Air pillows can be used in either in-ground or above-ground applications.in between the pool water surface and pool cover.

There is not a set size for use, the bigger the better would be a good way to consider when ordering for more coverage.

On these units the are plastic opening that looks like grommets in each corner of the pillow.

Hello.  The suggested air pillow size would be one (1) of the 4' x 8' PureLine Pool Air Pillow PL0195.   The maximum air pillow size would be one (1) of the 4' x 15' Pureline Air Pillow PL0196.   Pool Air Pillow 4 Ft. x 15 Ft - PL0196
