my timer got stuck on the clip and the motor kept trying to go off but couldn't so, did I burn out the motor or the bearing. It still hums when I turn the power on after I let it cool off but want pump water to the filter.

It is possible that the motor has burned out. You will need to remove the motor from the pump housing and test to see if the motor is still turning the impeller. If yes, try is out when connected to the pump to see if it will primp and circulate water. If it is not turning, it is time to get a new motor.

Is there a VFD you can recommend that can be wired to this 0.5hp motor?

Unfortunately, I am not aware of one for that low of horsepower. Not saying that they do not go lower, but the lowest I have seen them go is 1HP.

I need a 1hp motor for a jacuzzi magnum 1000 . My pump has a lock ring on it.

Hi, Dom. Based on the info I've gathered the Magnum 1000 uses a 50Hz motor which we do not sell. If that's not the case and it uses a 60Hz motor the UST1102 Motor would be the correct replacement. In order to confirm we'll need the motor info.

i have a century 2 speed 2 hp 1081 pool and spa motor now, sp1615z2msc I know 1 1/2 hp pump is enough for my pool will this motor replace mine size wise

Hi, Gary. The correct replacement motor is the Century B977 Motor. This 1/2 hp motor may not provide enough water flow to turn over the water depending on your pools feet of head.

This is NOT the correct motor. You will require this motor here UST1102 Replacement Pool Motor when replacing your motor you will need a seal kit. For us to suggest the proper seal kit could you send a photo of a wide shot of your complete pool pump to show the pipes going in and out of the pump? To supply this photo simply click the reply link below and upload your photo. Once we get this photo we can make the proper recommendation for the seal kit.

Hi Richard, Thanks for the photo! We are actually showing that your motor is 1-1/2 HP and NOT 1/2 HP you will require this UST1152 1.5 HP Replacement Motor and this Hayward Super Pump Tune Up Kit. We put together this Video on How to Replace a Pool Pump Motor which you may find helpful when you tackle this project. I am currently running B127, but bearings are going. Can I replace with this to reduce power consumption?
 Reply

A  Answered on 1/3/2022 by InyoPools Product Specialist Craig C.

Hello Grant.  Technically the B127 can be replaced with the ST1052.  However, the B127 current draw is 6amp @ 230VAC, the ST1052 current draw is 5.5amp @230VAC, minimal savings would result.  Additionally, the pump would be dropping from 1.125 THP to 0.8THP with the change which could result in a shorter motor (ST1052) life span - the pump impeller is mated to the higher THP.  For a significant reduction in energy consumption, the Century Motor V-Green Variable Speed Motor model  ECM16CU would be the preferred selection.  Century V-Green ECM16CU
