Are there different instructions for a larger pool? If not, how much farther apart should the saddles be?
Reply
Unfortunately the manufacturer doesn't have any other instructions for a larger pool. Per the manufacturer: Note: If your pool is 28 foot or larger you just fold the solar cover back on top of the outside saddles, or you may want to purchase single saddle kits that are readily available. If the brackets are spaced farther apart than the recommended distance, the weight distribution will become uneven and may cause premature failure.

Will these attach to a railing around the pool? I have a 18' pool with an attached metal 1 1/2' walk around deck with a 3' high railing. Would these work?
Reply
The saddle should work with your application. The five mounting brackets will attach to your stop railing and are flexible to give you more freedom on how you'd like to position it as well.

Would these work with a resin top rail? Would the rail be strong enough to hold the hooks secure?
Reply
Hi Dave, Yes the Solar Saddle's do work on a resin top rail and the resin rail is strong enough to the hold the hooks secure.

Debie, As long as you have the proper upright and the need for the Solar Saddle it will make handling a Solar Blanket easy.

How far apart do you space the brackets for a 24' round pool?
Reply
Hi, "The key to mounting the Solar Saddle product is to evenly space the saddles to allow 2 1/2 to 3 feet of the cover to extend over/past the outside saddles, as the picture below shows."

how do the hooks attach to the pool?

Hi Lou. You must drill holes in the top rail of the pool to attach each bracket, to which you screw in each hook. For a more thorough display you can go to the manufacturer's page.

Can I get replacement pins and U-Brackets? I would like 5 of each. Mine worked well for most of last year, but the pins are not held in place by anything and some of my U-Brackets broke. One word of warning, Don't store the cover in these saddles when it is raining. The rain water will overload the U-Brackets and cause them to fail. Otherwise, this system can be made to work well (If I can get replacement parts). Thank you!

How do these attach. Do you screw them into rails underneath? Will it rust over time
Reply
Hello, You will need to drill into the top rail to install the solar saddle. If you have steel top rails, they may rust over time. You can use some Rustoleum spray before installing the solar saddle to help prevent this.

I just recieved my solar saddles and tried to mount them, however there is ribbing under my ledging and i cannot get them mounted the way the instructions say. there is no flat area to mount them to a pencil width away from the pool side.the only place i see i can mount them is if pushed them right against the pool wall. and that is really tight . How do i mount them in this situation?

Hi William, Based on your explanation I don't see a workable way you can mount the saddles to the rails. .

Will these mount to a 15' round ? How wide does the rail need to be for proper mounting?

Hi Karla, The Solar Saddle can be used with a 15' round pool. These can be mounted to a 4" wide top rail with at lease 2" of flat mounting space.

Is there any way we can purchase extra hooks? We have the 5, but our pool is 18x33, and it would be nice to have a few more so the cover doesn't hang on the ground.

I have a 24 ft round pool with a deck and railing all around it. Will the solar saddle attach to the deck railing rather than the pool itself?
Reply
The Solar Saddle connects to the wall of the pool under the railing only and cannot be safely installed to a deck rail. Please see the photos of the product on the description page for a better view of the hook to see if it will meet your needs.
