What is the benefit of the clear solar blanket over the blue one?
Reply
First, the clear solar blanket is thicker than the blue; the clear is 12 mil thick while the blue is 8 mil. Secondly, the clear allows the sun to pass through the blanket thus heating the water better. The blue blanket tends to absorb the heat itself so the blanket gets hot, not the water. Lastly, the clear blanket has a 5 year warranty as opposed to the 3 year warranty for the blue.

Does the solar cover come with an overlap like a winter cover does?

No, the solar cover does not come with an overlap. A solar cover is designed to sit on top of the water's surface and fits on the inside perimeter of the pool wall.

how do you roll back solar cover for 18' above gr pool?
also do the aut pool vacs stay in the pool?

Hi, Rosemary. You will need an Above Ground Solar Cover Reel. I would recommend removing the automatic pool vacuum from the pool.

I’m looking at your 18’ round clear solar blanket. What exactly is needed if I buy a reel to deploy it and roll it back up. I’m looking for part numbers (for the reel, any accessories for mounting the reel, etc). Also, is a reel required? At 15 lbs for the blanket, it seems like it could be rolled up and laid on the ground beside the pool when not in use. Thanks!

Hi, P. Above Ground Pool Solar Reel System includes all the components for installation. Only storage systems and covers are sold separately. You do not have to use a reel system, you can manually place or remove the cover from the pool or use the Solar Saddle System.

I have a above ground pool reel. Does this cover have the seam in the middle to attach the straps as to not tear the cover?
Reply
Hi, Walter. The location of the seams vary depending on how the cover is cut.
