Can you direct me to the proper hi low switch for this motor?

Unfortunately the manufacturer does not offer the switch for the 2 speed 220v motors any longer. If you already have a 220 volt timer (on/off) you would need an Intermatic T106R to switch from high to low speed. If you do not have a timer currently you would need the T10604R which is a 220v on/off timer and a high/low timer.

How can I tell whether or not my motor is a dual or single speed?
 Reply

A  Answered on 1/18/2012 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

Most dual speed motors will have a toggle switch that will allow you to adjust the motor speed to either high or low. Another way to tell if your motor is dual speed is by looking at the RPM's on the motor specifications label. If there are two RPM's listed such as: 1725/3450 then motor is dual speed. If there is only one RPM, then motor is single speed.

I'm trying to replace the motor on my pool pump but all these numbers and abbreviations on the motor label are really confusing me. What do they mean?

Replacing a pool pump motor is not as difficult as it seems. You can try looking here. If you need help figuring out what the information on your label means. If you are still having difficulty figuring it out you can call us at our toll free number or you can send us a photo of your motor label here.

Hi could you send a closer photo of the label as we can not read the data from the first photo, also please send a wide shot of the pump showing the pipes going in and out of the pump. This will allow us to make the proper recommendation. Simply click the reply link below to upload your photos.

Is there an exact replacement for an A.O. Smith 7-181093-03 pump motor ? If not what is the best replacement ? Label from old pump is attached. Thanks

Hi James, the correct replacement motor for your motor part number 181093 is the 5387X. When replacing a pool motor we do suggest a Seal Kit. Could you send us a few photos of your pump so we can suggest the proper seal kit? If so then please take a wide shot of the complete pump to include the pipes going in and out of the pump. To supply photos simply click the reply link below and upload your photos. Once we get those photos we can make the proper recommendation for your seal kit.

Will this pump be a replacement for my old Hayward?

 Reply

A  Answered on 1/27/2022 by InyoPools Product Specialist Rich N.

Hi David, that is not quite powerful enough for your pump, and it looks like you might live in California from the zip code you provided so we would need to recommend a Title 20 Compliant motor like this V-Green 1.65 HP Round Flange 56J Variable Speed Motor - ECM16CU.  .  We would also recommend getting this Tune-Up Kit - GOKIT2 for your Hayward Super II SP3000 Series pump which contains all new o-rings, lubricant, and a motor shaft seal for when you replace the motor.

Hello, That motor would have access problems with my setup. Will the STS1152R 1.5HP Dual Speed be a good alternative?

Thank you for placing your order with InyoPools. I will answer this question for others. Yes, the Century 1.0 HP Round Flange 56J Dual Speed Full Rate Motor - STS1102RV1 with the End Cover Switch Assembly - 1011431-001 (end cover to manually toggle from high/low speeds) can be used to replace the single-speed motor model c48l2n134b3 for Century/AO Smith and Hayward Motors. Please note, the dual-speed motor requires 230 Volts for wiring.
