What is the difference between an inline and offline chlorinator?

An inline chlorinator would be plumbed directly inline with the plumbing.  For an existing pool, this would mean a section of pipe would need to be cut out to install the chlorinator.  An offline chlorinator attaches to existing plumbing by chlorinator tubing (holes would be drilled into existing pipe to attach the tubing.)

Will I need a check valve? Can you send me the manual for installation? Thanks!

We would suggest a check valve as when the pump turns off the highly chlorinated water from the chlorinator can back flow to your equipment causing damage. Here is an Inline Chlorinator Manual for Installation that you may find helpful.

Is there anyway to test the chlorine level valve to see if it’s working? Mine seems like it might be over chlorinating even with the valve turned all the way clockwise to off.

There a few ways that you can test the chlorine. Please click here to be directed to the list of test kits that you can use.

Yeah, thanks. I know how to test the chlorine. It’s the valve on this chlorinator that I want to test. Is there anyway to do that? Please read my question thoroughly next time.
