I have 2" pvc plumbing, however the ports on my pool pump are 1.5" female threads, what would be the correct union for this set up?

This union here would be the correct union, the 1.5" male threads on the union would screw into the 1.5" female threads of your pump and the 2" plumbing would slip onto the smooth 2" portion of this union. These unions make it very easy to remove your pump quickly and allows you not to have cut into your plumbing if you need to remove your pump.

I have an above ground pool with a Sta Rite DE filter PLD 50 I'm replacing pump with your NE6170B is this the right union?

Hi, Chris. Yes, this union can be used with the NE6170B pump. The PLD50 unit has 2" ports so you will have to use a reducer depending on the size pvc you're using.

Are the threads fine enough to fit a 1.5" galvanized T?

Good day, the Union 1.5" Male Threaded x 1.5" Slip - 21063-154-000 has a coarse thread and will not fit into a galvanized fitting.

Outlet Leaked Like Crazy when Pump Warmed Up

Written on 4/22/2019 by Guest

I bought two; one for inlet and one for the outlet. The inlet (suction) side was an easy connection but the outlet started a slight drip at startup. As the pump warmed and the sun beat down on the connection, the leak got worse. I tried tightening the connection but it made it worse.

The second day, I loosened the connection and it seemed to stop, but when the fitting was warmed by the pump, it leaked. I was about to buy another (replacement) but went back to the old tried but true screw in 1 1/2" fitting with 2-inch outlet and glued it together. No more problems!

Installed a New Pureline Pump

Written on 2/12/2019 by Guest

The union connectors are great for later servicing. It's easy to disassemble or replace the pump.

I moved to a new home and ordered a new Pureline pump and will convert from chlorine to salt. My new salt kit and Pureline pump are in the garage, waiting for a break in the weather to install. I love dealing will Inyo Pools.
