Hi Maurjo, The manifold would be the next part I would replace, we also a have good article on Getting DE Powder Back in Your Pool which goes into the common items to check when getting DE powder in your pool.

Hi I have an aquatech D.E. filter that was installed in 1998 for the past two years it has been leaking D.E. back into the pool . Last year I replaced the grids and by researching i feel like the manifold is next to replace . It doesnt appear aquatech is in business anymore and pentair sells some replacement parts for these. the pic you have looks similar to mine. How can i find out if this would be the right part?

Hi Laura, In order to locate the correct manifold you need we will need to know the model of the AquaTech Filter and or the part number of the manifold.

Basically, you just remove the damaged monifold and install the new one. There's nothing else to it.

Factory Filter Manifold Leaking and Pool Water Cloudy

Written on 4/12/2019 by Guest

I was changing the filter blades on my FNS60 when I noticed the factory manifold at the top was badly cracked on the bottom side.

I'd recommend checking that each time you clean your filters if your unit is over 2-3 years old. Mine was 5 years old.

If you've never replaced the filter blades before, I also recommend turning the assembly upside down and note how the blades are positioned on the base!

Remove the 2 wing nuts on the long rods that bind the filter assembly together and lift the manifold from the filter blades.

If all you are replacing is this manifold, then simply replace the old manifold with this generic which by the way fit perfectly and seems very well built!

Take care in getting the slotted tops of the filter tubes seated into each hole in the manifold and replace the wing nuts as you go to help hold the assembly as you fit the manifold over the slotted tubes.

Snug the wing nuts and you're set!! In my case, recharging the new filter blades with DE was a breeze and less than 2 days later, my pool water is crystal clear!

For my manifold replacement, the only tools needed were a socket and wrench to remove the band holding the filter tank halves.
