Would a faulty gasket be the usual cause of leakage at drain cap?

A bad/old is one of the usual culprits for a leaky drain port. Also, if the drain cap is not screwed on tight enough.

Hello Ann, pnsd0060do1160 matches with a Pentair Sand Dollar 1.5 HP W/ 22" Tank Sand Filter System and there are replacement parts for Pac Fab/Pentair Sand Dollar & System Pack Prior to 2009 and Pentair Sand Dollar System 2009 to Current. Please check your current model and see which year your drain gasket filter parts you need.
