Pool Tool Inc Inline Zinc Anode
The inline zinc anode is attached to bonding wire thereby protecting all metal parts against the effects of galvanic corrosion.
The see through housing allows the anode to be easily replaced when depleted. The zinc anode should be replaced after half of it has eroded. No re-plumbing required. A must for salt water pools. This takes approximately 3 years.

You should not have to purge air from the node every day. It sounds like you may have an air leak somewhere in your plumbing, give this guide a read: How to Identify and Correct Air Leaks
