Top washer had disintegrated and was missing

Opened filter housing. Removed keeper ring to release the locking knob. Removed the locking knob by pulling and rotating back and forth. Inserted the washer onto the locking knob shaft. Reinserted the locking knob into the filter assembly. Placed a washer inside the assembly.
Replaced the keeper ring to lock the locking knob in place.

Cons: none

Ordered, received, and installed washer on my Hayward pool filter. Washer had a crack and allowed air to enter the system, had issues w/ pressure and proper suction.
