(5 out of 5 stars) It works
Reviewed By: Piotr K. from Granger, IN ()
Pros: works
Cons: wrong shape of base plate that didn't fit my heater model
The base plate with rheostats it came mounted on did not fit my heater, so I unmounted just the module and put it on my original plate. 10 minutes and heater was back in operation.

(4 out of 5 stars) Works great!

My Pentair Minimax CH 250K BTU heater is 18 years old. It wouldn't turn on or stay on half the time anymore. Replacing this Thermostat assembly makes it run like new again. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars and not 5 is because the female terminals coming off the potentiometers were too small. I had to replace them with larger ones. I used the ones that have red plastic sleeves for wire size 22-18. So that turned a 15 minute job into an hour job trying to find the larger terminals in my tool room, replacing them, etc. If your heater is newer, maybe you won't have to replace them. The base plate is also not the same as the original but the mounting holes are the same, so I just replaced my old base plate and thermostat assembly with the new one. The Thermostat points down now instead of to the right. Once again, if your heater is newer than mine, it might be the exact same. Bottom line, even with the extra work changing the terminals, the installation wasn't too bad and I'm very happy to have the heater working good again. Btw, it came in Pentair packaging so that must make it a Pentair OEM part.

Works like a charm. Easy install instructions. Great Product. Heater is working better now than when it was new with the replacement parts.

(4 out of 5 stars) Good Thermostat
Reviewed By: William S. from Delmar, NY ()
The thermostat works fine. It comes with two new rheostats for the pool and spa, but the metal mounting didn't fit my heater, so I hade to disassemble the parts from the mounting before installing. Not a problem. My heater is nine years old, the wiring to the gas valve, pressure sensor, etc. is brittle, and the millivolt system is very sensitive. So I sometimes have to coax the heater into operation by turning the pool pump off and on to get a surge over the pressure sensor, or turn the knob up and down to get it to light. Not the fault of the thermostat, however.

(5 out of 5 stars) Fairly Priced replacement

Local repair shop claimed replacement was a 300$ part after searching at various retailers I opted to purchase here for less and install myself. Heater thermostat was ordered, shipped, and installed and up and running in less than 3 days of determining what was broken.
