How can I tell what size baker hydro HRV tank I have (24", 30", etc)? Sand was dumped into my pool but the laterals look good. The air relief valve hose looks like it broke and may have fallen out of the hole in the return pipe. Could this be the cause? The sand came from the Jets and settled there. My current sand level was just below the level of the bottom pipe (return to pool). What is the correct sand level that should be in the tank? Thank you.

Hello MD - The diameter of the tank will determine the model. If it measures 24", you have an HRV24. Usually sand in the pool is a sign of a broken lateral. It is possible that a broken hose could allow sand to return to the pool. Most sand filters are filled 2/3 of the way with sand. You will want to check your owner's manual or contact the manufacturer to confirm the sand level.

What is the purpose of this part? I don't think I have this and the filter seemed to work fine. I think it attaches to the top of part 14 and below the pressure gauge. Is this right?

Hi, Samantha. This part is attached to the air bleed tube. It is necessary, it stops particles in the tube from getting by when the air relief valve is opened.
