a few of the small laterals have a few small sections with some of the fins or small cuts in the small lateral parts are missing could this be causing my filter to be passing a lot of silt type material to be deposited on the pool bottom and actually clouding up pool if i turn off pump for about a day or two the water seems to clear chemicaliy water has been tested several times and was fine i appreciate any help

Hi Rob, Any kind of crack or damage in the laterals can cause the filter not to work properly. The issue you're experiencing is a sign of the filter not working properly, the sand or lateral may need to be changed.

Hi, Matt. This Lateral Assembly with Center Pipe - SX144DA will not fit the S166T model filter. You will need to get Part # SX164DA.

What keeps the Lateral Assembly in place in the tank?

The assembly will clink into the bottom of the tank.

This rests on a bump on the bottom of the tank and the sand around it keeps it in place

there is a raised molded pc on the inside bottom of the tank that the bottom hub assembly will fit over

i purchased from you a multi port valve PL0714 on order # 952554 to replace a ss160 valve.. the new port has a bottom flange that my old one did not. when I put in the center pipe, it seems to be too long, and as a result I can not seat the clamp band properly. can I shorten the center pipe, and if so how much should I remove. thank you peter martin
