I was cleaning the pool filter and when I was going to put it, I don't know if this part goes at the bottom or on top of the filter

Hi Luz, The Guide Cone (CX900D) goes into the center of filter lid.

My filter is missing the guide cone. What holds this in place? Do I need other parts to secure inside the lid?

Hi Maureen, The Guide Cone simply slides into the center of the Filter Lid keeping it in place, no other parts is needed to secure it inside the lid.

Could a missing guide cone on my star clear plus filter allow dirt back into my pool.

Hello Bill, A missing part would be allowing dirt back in your pool.

I have a Stayclear plus (C12002) filter housing. Just lately it is very difficult to remove the top half to access the filter element. Is the cone somehow attached to the cap retaining lug to aid in the removal process? My cone is just sitting atop the filter element doing what? Thank-You.

Good afternoon Joe, The cone is there to direct the top onto the stainless rod. sounds like you are missing the clip for the handle. If you look up into the lid you will notice there should be a clip that holds the handle into the lid. Here is a link to a handle kit Cone Kit, Star Clear Plus (CX900DA)

Hello, sometimes there is water that leaks out because either the oring didn't sit right into the housing of the filter, or possibly didn't have enough lube to seal properly, if you are still having problems please send pictures to upload@inyopools.com so our techs can take a look at this for you.
