I am having trouble getting my pump to prime completely, the strainer basket cup on the pump never completely fills up with water. I have tried to fill with water prior to placing the lid cover on, but it doesn't seem to help, the water sucks out of the strainer too fast before I can get the lid on completely. Could this drain plug play any role in this problem. I have checked everything else I can think of.

Hi John, The drain plug is on the suction side of the pump so it can play a role is why the pump is not priming.

My Raypak pool heater's drain plug is leaking. Is this what i need to replace it?

Hi, Jennifer. This will not fit a Raypak heater, the Raypak Drain Plug - 006721F is used on most of their units. However, if you can provide the unit model # I can confirm which drain plug you'll need.
