This seems a little larger then the shaft o ring. Is it supposed to be? Should it not be the same outer dimension as the shaft o ring?

Hi Al, The Diverter Valve Seal Ring (3457) is slightly larger than the valve stem o-ring.

Why does the space saver, gray 3 valve model jandy diverter that I have use a seal ring # 3457 and one o ring instead of two o-rings?

Hi, Brad. They style valve you have determines if you use two o-rings or one o-ring and a seal ring. The cover is designed slightly different.
