which way does the fin go ?

Hi, Cheryl. The fins go against the seal plate as shown in the Hayward Super Pump VS Exploded Diagram.

Is this comparable to a sp2600-b for Harvard pump. This pump was purchased in the late ‘80’s.

Hello, the correct replacement for the SP2600-B would be the Pureline Generic Super Pump Diffuser, Comparable to Hayward SPX3000BN - PL2673.
