getting air bubbles from clorinator .....what do I need to replace on clorinator?
Reply
Hi, Paul. Chlorinators are usually pressurized which will cause water to leak out not come in causing air bubbles. Air bubbles can only enter your system on the suction side. Yo can use our How to Identify and Correct Air Leaks guide to assist you.

My chlorinator is over 20 years old. I replaced the O-Ring and when I took it apart 1 of the slip washers crumbled. Do those washers affect the operation of the chlorinator? I'm not getting high enough chorine readings to the point that I've added an extra tablet to boost the reading

Walter, The washers would not affect the chlorine output. If you are not getting enough chlorine, the check valve may be clogged.

What sort of flathead screwdriver should be used to tighten this? I used a metal one and it damaged the screwhead. Is there a special tool or something recommended to tighten this with?

Hi, Cornelius. You can use a socket to remove the screw. I myself have damaged the screw using a flathead screwdriver.

Replaced the cover screw on our Hayward chlorinator and it lasted 6 weeks. We did buy another hoping it was a fluke, it was inexpensive and we plan on replacing the chlorinator next season. Not happy with it

Pros: Fit perfectly, exact replacement.
Cons: Wish it had included the needed o-ring, which I had to purchase seperately.
