What is this used for? What does it connect. I have a sta rite filter with a wc112-148 A multiport valve. The threads are damaged. I tried to repair the threads or get the part replaced or connect the hose some other way.

Hi, Marc. This is used to connect two sections of 2" pipe. As for your WC112-148 valve, it will be best to either replace it.
