Are the metal and new plastic clamp assemblies interchangeable?

Good Day. I called Pentair technical ( 800-831-7133 ) and they told me that the part is neither plastic or metal. It is more of a composite material. The pictures are just of two different variations on the same item.

Regarding the starite system 3 clamp assy and bolt. There are a couple of washers and lock washers that come with each clamp assy. I would like to purchase 7 sets of the washers/lockwashers the clamps and bolts are fine.Is it a possibility to purchase only the washers etc.

Hi Jack, The washer for this is not list as a separate part, so you will have to purchase the entire Clamp Assembly.

Pros: non corrosive, works well
Cons: must be careful tighting or can strip treads and then needs replaced. Part pricey based on costs for overall filter unit.
Quick response on replacement part. Part is all black even though picture may show differently. Support very prompt when confirming parts.
