Hole had worn on the cover of our back up valve

I was unable to think of a suitable patch of the hole which was sorely affecting pressure to the cleaner. I didn't want to put something on the outside that would just wear off in the pool. I didn't want to put anything on the inside of the valve that could come off and gum up the works or pass through to the cleaner.

The cover easily comes off with a Phillips head screwdriver and removing six screws. I was not able to purchase a replacement cover from either online sources or a local retailer. I was then stymied in trying to obtain the correct back up valve from either online sources or a local retailer. INYOPools had the correct valve and shipped it to me.

It was a matter of unscrewing the nuts from the hose. I dipped the hose ends into hot water to make them more flexible, pushed them onto the backup valve, screwed the threaded nuts onto the hose and it worked like a champ.
