how can I find out the part number or filter that I need for my system?

Hi Dee, On the outside of the filter canister would have a sticker that have the Manufacture info, operating specs and the model of the filter. You can find out by that model number.

is this a replacement for Pentair 173578?
 Reply

A  Answered on 6/12/2016 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

The Pentair 173578 is a replacement cartridge for the Clean and Clear Plus 520 and this cartridge is the replacement for the Clean and Clear Plus 420. You would require this PL0121 Clean and Clear Plus 520 Replacement Cartridge.

Does this cartridge replace the Pentair cartridge with the following number: Pin 178585 or R 173576? Other markings on the cartridges needing replacement are as follows: Normal Pore size 10 Micron, 32.06 long 130 Sq. ft.

The number 178585 references to the Pentair Clean & Clear Model 520. That cartridge filter uses the Pentair Clean & Clear Plus 520 Sq. Ft. Replacement Cartridge.

My pool pump was making a lot of noise.

Written on 8/24/2020 by Guest

I relieved the pressure of pool pump and washed the cartridge filters off, put the system back together and turned the pump back on, and that relieved the pump of no more noise.

Two of my filters would not come clean, they kind of looked like they had rust on them

Written on 8/22/2019 by Guest

I turned the pump off, let the air out and unscrewed the band, lifted the lid and took two of the filters out and replaced them with my new filters. I then put the lid back on, tightened the band, turned the pump on let the air out and the pressure on the pump was at a steady mark.

Cartridge Filter Replacement

Written on 7/16/2019 by Guest

These replacement cartridges are an excellent fit.

Replaced them as a set of 4 and they have performed very well through a half-season of pool filtering. I have cleaned them multiple times and they still appear as new. Outstanding so far. Highly recommend this brand and Inyo pools as the vendor.

Pool Filtration System was weak, high filter pressure

Written on 5/25/2018 by Guest

I noticed the cartridges in my filter were broken and referenced Inyo pools help site. I was able to diagnose the cartridges as being the problem for weak filtration and high filter pressure. Easy to replace the cartridges and the system is running great!
