how to winterized a raypak heater and where are the drain plugs thank you .gerry

Hello, Normally all units come with the instructions on winterizing, these are different with each heater, but turn off you gas, make sure ignitor is off, instructions may only say to remove the drain plug. You can (if you would like) blow compressed air through the heater with the drain plugs removed until you see no misting come out of the drains. Then pause the air flow and do it again. And maybe again. You want to get as much water out of the heater element as possible. Only use about 20-30 psi if you're using a compressor. Again this is different for each type of heater, please follow owners manual instructions.

Why does my limit switch or rollout goes bad when we have a windy day. What can I do to prevent it.
Reply
James, That will happen with a millivolt heater. There is not much you can do to prevent it.

(5 out of 5 stars) Easy to install

Pros: Easy to install, easy to switch inlet ports from left side to right side
Cons: none,
Researched current heater offerings and concluded that raypak seemed to offer the best quality for the value. I replaced an older laars unit that really never performed adequately and was plagued continuously with various wiring issues. I like the design of the raypak since the inputs and returns are are plastic compound which will limit corrosion and hopefully extend the life of the unit. Unit was delivered on time and was in great shape with no shipping damage. Unit was easy to hook up including the plumbing for the propane connection. I also had to switch the water ports from right to left which also is very simple to do. Follow the directions including the recommendation to not overtighten. The unit is performing quite well with the proof of the engineering coming over time. I would recommend this unit as wellas inyopools as a supplier. Everything went exceptionally smooth especially the delivery.
