Hi Clark, This controller is not battery operated. It is directly wired to a variable speed pump.

I have the Jandy E pump controller. It has remote contacts available. So what can be attached to this. I mounted mine in my shop away from the pool equipment. it is very hard to jump back and forth. Can a wireless controller be connected to these remote terminals. Please advise James Bennett

The remote contacts are for operation through a switch or a relay. You may find more detail on this in section 2.8 of the Jandy JEPR Owner's Manual.
