(1 out of 5 stars) Stainless tank is not welded properly
Reviewed By: Wojtek B. from Saint Laurent, QC ()
Pros: Heats very well, big inlet and outlet 1.5"
Cons: poor manufacturing quality, short life
After about 6 months of installation, the stainless steel container started to leak from the weld. I have two units like this, and the second one started leaking after 10 months. It says on the cover that the max pressure should be lower than 60 psi, my pressure was about 20 psi, so it looks like the manufacturing quality issue.

(5 out of 5 stars) Great Spa heater
Reviewed By: Raymond R. from Fort Worth, Texas ()
Pros: Easy to install
We have a home built 1,500 gallon "poolette" that we use as a splashing pool in the summer and in the winter we cover it and heat it for use as a spa. Previously we used a Vulcan 6kw heater from Grainger, but we had a pretty high failure rate. The Hayward heater brings the water temp up much faster and was very easy to install.

(4 out of 5 stars) Whirlpool Heater
Reviewed By: Dr Bink from New Bern, NC ()
Pros: Easy Installation
Cons: Element chamber developed leak around reset button
Package arrived in good condition with no defects. This system is used in a YMCA whirlpool setting, and the system is on 24/7. For the most part the system is reliable with the exception of the pressure switch, used in shutting system off if there is no water pressure. Because of the chlorination and chemicals we use for sanitation purposes, the unit tends to corrode from the inside out so longevity is only about 5-6 years. Unit is well put together and the price was better than our local Pools Plus, they wanted $759.00 for the same unit.

(5 out of 5 stars) replacement heater
Reviewed By: Kris from Vancouver, WA ()
Pros: Small and easy to install
Used this heater as a replacement for original. Its smaller and works just as well. Two wires (plus grounding copper wire) to hook-up. Like the stainless steel heater tank (original was carbon steel0.
