how do you get this off? Does it just pull off??

Correct, it is just sandwiched between the motor and the pool pump housing.

How exactly does it come off? I can't seem to pull it off at all and I don't want to break anything.

Hi,  Once you have unscrew the 4 bolts from the back of the motor to separate the motor from the pump housing, the Pool Pump Motor Flange will be free to be removed.

Hi George, I'm not sure if this pump is designed for the Housing to be rotated. If so, you will need to disassemble the pump removing the motor from the Pool Pump Housing. Then rotate the Pool Pump Housing connecting the motor to the housing in the desired position. Then assemble the pump back together.
