CLEAR SOLAR BLANKET
PREMIUM CLEAR SOLAR BLANKET HEATS YOUR POOL FASTER THAN BLACK OR SILVER!
Use our new Clear solar blankets to heat your pool faster. Our solar blankets are laced with air bubbles that act as an insulating layer, shielding your swimming pool from cool winds and nighttime cooling (for installation, the blanket goes bubble side down.) In addition, our clear blankets allow more solar heat to reach the depths of your pool and heat it thoroughly. Our blankets are made of extra-thick 14 MIL material so they will outlast most other above-ground blankets on the market. They are backed by a 6-Year Warranty. Invest in the solar blanket that will give you the best heating you can buy — Clear.

What is the difference between the clear and the blue solar blanket?
Reply
First, the clear solar blanket is thicker than the blue; the clear is 14 mil thick while the blue is 12 mil. Secondly, the clear allows the sun to pass through the blanket thus heating the water better. The blue blanket tends to absorb the heat itself so the blanket gets hot, not the water. Lastly, the clear blanket has a 6 year warranty as opposed to the 5 year warranty for the blue.

Does the solar cover come with an overlap like a winter cover does?
Reply
No, the solar cover does not come with an overlap. A solar cover is designed to sit on top of the water's surface and fits on the inside perimeter of the pool wall.

What color are the Magni-Clear solar covers? They appear to be silver in color.
Reply
The Magni-Clear solar blankets are clear in color. They look silver in the photo due to lighting and background effects used to show detail.

What do I use to hold down my in ground solar cover? Can I use water tubes?
Reply
Solar covers (or solar blankets) are designed to sit on the surface of the water inside of the pool. The cover does not extend onto the top rails or pool deck. You will likely need to carefully trim the solar cover with a pair of scissors to ensure a proper fit.

What is the difference between the Magni Clear Solar Covers and the Clear Solar covers? I see that one is 16 mil and the other is 14 mil but are there any other differences? What is the difference actual weight for the entire blanket size 18X40. I am going to roll the blanket up onto a roller and I have heard that the heavier is not good for a roller?
thank you,

LOVE this solar pool cover! It works so much better than the blue ones we've had in the past. It's thicker and a much better quality, and it really heats the water up perfectly. Very fast shipping, too! Highly recommend.

(3 out of 5 stars) Disappointed so far
Reviewed By: Inyo Customer ()
I bought this to replace a lighter blue one, that one was the sixth one in 15 years, none have lasted as long as the warranty suggests they should, after two years they are degrading and at three they fall apart. Am hoping this heavy version will do better BUT I have my doubts, it is so stiff that the creases where it was folded for shipment remain even after a week installed, these creases hold the material above the water so they must be getting hotter, and degrading faster, than they should. In addition the raised crease allows air to enter making it extremely difficult to get the large bubbles of air out from under the cover when putting it on so more material not in contact with the water. The stiffness of the material makes replacing the cover on the pool much harder than previous covers which simply unrolled, this one I have had to fit with lines to drag it down the pool. Does it heat the pool better than the blue cover, not that you can detect.

The straps broke off the blanket and are virtually useless. This make it more difficult to begin winding up the blanket.

(4 out of 5 stars) Pool Solar Cover
Reviewed By: Michael S. from Trenton, NJ ()
Pros: Protects against debris and seems to retain heat.
Cons: 10-15 degree temp increase is still being evaluated
I received this solar cover when the air temp was 91F(day)/75F (night) and cloudless sun. My pool temp was fluctuating about 4 degrees without the cover (78F in AM and 82/83F by 4PM). I added the solar cover and there was no change in temp fluctuation. My expectations were an increase in temp of 10-15 degrees with the solar effect. The cover has been on continuously for the last 4 days with rain and a weather change to low 60s at night and mid 70s during the day. The high yesterday was 72 and low 62. The water temp this morning was 78F. If definitely keeps out debris and I am eager to see the effect when the heater is turned on. Bottom line: still evalutating solar heating effectiveness.

Very glad I bought the solar blanket. It does extend swimming season by heating the pool water. It also reduces evaporation.
