If the size of your pool is 16' X 32' what size reel would you order? The reel we have now is 21' and was here when we moved in. We purchased the solar blanket size 16' X 32' last year and it fits in the pool perfectly. Please advise thank you.

Hello CarolAnn - You would require a reel that, at a minimum, is designed for 16' pools. The NS970 would be a suitable reel for your pool.

I have had both 3 an 4" aluminum reels and both sag in the middle terribly after no time at all. What is different about yours? I need to know before I purchase. I am almost to the point of saying the heck with it and not even using one. Tks jh

Jim, As stated in the product description "Our premium reel is built with a heavy-duty tube that will not sag or flex. It will support solar blankets up to 18-ft. wide by 50-ft. long and is backed by a 5 year warranty".

1) can I use this for a 10 X 50 foot solar blanket and do I need to shorten the tube?
2) can I anchor this to pool deck so it doesn't move around (or into the pool)?

Hi Phil, The Tubes are telescopic for proper adjustment. The solar reel is equipped with casters that can be locked but does not comes with any anchors. If you would like it anchored you will have to rig something up.

Pros: Smooth bearings, aluminum tube minimizes sag - solid construction, easy assembly.
Cons: Glue on velcro strap attachments to tube don't remain attached. Had to screw the straps on.
Makes it easy for a single person to put on and remove the cover. As a result, I now cover the pool every night, and consistent use of the solar cover has minimized the amount of time our heater has to run.

Poor design. Bolts are put in place using rubber washers. Most have fallen out. I had to fish them out of the pool. Wound up screwing holes thru and fastening with aluminum screws.

Pros: Constructed well, Price
It's very light and looks like it's built to last. I will be putting it together this weekend. I've plastic ones in the past but they only lasted a few years. Looking at how this one is constructed I anticipate many years of use.

Pros: light weight
Cons: none so far
Seems very sturdy yet light weight. Assembly was fairly easy and took about 45 minutes. Gave it 4 stars only because I haven't used it yet.

(5 out of 5 stars) Great Pool Solar Reel
Reviewed By: Michael S. from Trenton, NJ ()
Pros: Works Great! Light and easy to move with two people.
Cons: Not enough screws
Works great. It took about 30 minutes to assemble. The Tech Screws worked great, however one snapped and there were 3 less than the instructions called for. The lack of Tech screws did not cause a sag in the reel, so I did not contact the company to request more screws.
