Does this alarm have to be mounted?

Yes, this alarm has to be mounted to the deck of the pool and the manufacture recommends that the alarm is placed in a central location for shortest distance from all parts of the pool.

A remote control is not included with the PE20 Inground Pool Alarm. A remote is included with the PE21(NA422) and PE22 Inground Pool Alarms.

I have 2 questions: How loud is the alarm? AND-How quickly will the alarm sound once it detects motion in the water?

Hi, This unit decibel rating is 120, and it will sound immediately once it senses motion.
