When choosing a chlorinator for your pool, several factors come into play before deciding which one is right for you. How big or small does my chlorinator need to be? How many tablets will it take? Will I need to re-plumb my line to fit the chlorinator in with my other systems? These questions, and many more, often make choosing a chlorinator more difficult than it actually is. This How-To-Guide will help you choose the best chlorinator for your pool.

How to determine what grams of salt chlorinator to use in a swimming pool?Reply
InyoPools Product Specialist Matt S. Posted: 9/16/2021
That amount of salt to be added to the pool depends on the desired salinity ppm, the current salinity ppm, and the pool size in gallons. We have this guide that helps you calculate the amount of salt required, but you will have to do the conversion from pounds to grams. Swimming Pool Salt CalculatorReply

I have a 14,000 gallon above ground pool. Can I use the Hayward CL100 or CL200? Or do I need to go with the CL200?Reply
InyoPools Product Specialist Matt S. Posted: 7/14/2021
The CL100 should be big enough for a pool your size. However, you may still go with the CL200. An advantage to going with the larger unit is you can go longer between chlorine loads.Reply

We would be glad to help. First, what is your application? Is this an inground or above ground pool? Second, do you want an offline or inline chlorinator?Reply
