It is easier if the eyeball diverter ring is removed. BTW - it is not easy to put the new one in.Reply

My Kreepy would not startup but ran fine after pulling on the hose. I replaced the flapper but it still would not work correctly. I took a closer look and found the two tiny "ears" on the baffle plate were missing causing the baffle plate to move into the flapper. Replaced the baffle plate and it works fine.Reply

robmarg - Sounds like your KK flapper may be stuck. You should be able to move the flapper back and forth easily. If not, take the unit apart again to see what might be jamming the flapper.Reply

Sandhillguy - Congratulations. Don't know why the tabs didn't insert but sounds like you found a workable solution.Reply

After a lot of pryiong & trpidation, I did manage to pry the plate off and replace the hammer. BUT could not get the tabs to insert properly. So I ground them off and used a small screw in the predrilled hole. Voila! Working great. Thank you for the tips.Reply
